I took this shot in a hotel room in St. Petes Beach, Florida. Terri Turner was sitting on the floor, getting dressed for our photoshoot. I was working for Flex Magazine at the time, and we spent over a week shooting models on the beach and around the St. Petes area.
It was the second or third day of shooting, and I remember feeling tired that day. I was also a little impatient as the sun was changing, and we needed to get started. Because I was in a rush, I had my camera in hand as I waited, and thank goodness I did. Terri was sitting there, unaware, and taking her sweet time getting ready, and she was perfect. Every time I see this picture, I remember that while photography may be a business, making memorable pictures is art. Art can’t be rushed, nor can the artist, or moments like this are missed.
